Meet Our Team

Ty Ullman

President/Landscape Architect

Ty Ullman
Ty grew up in Billings, MT and moved to Spokane in 1986. He graduated from Central Valley High School in 1988 and Washington State University in 1993. Ty started Clearwater Landscape in 1996, passed his Landscape Architect Exam in 1997, and then merged his company with Summit Landscape in 2000 to create the infamous group you see below. So who is he, you ask? Well, as he tells his kids, he plants flowers for a living. But as we all know, it’s a bit more complicated than that. He chose this career after spending his first year at WSU in the Mechanical Engineering program. Part of the problem is he probably didn’t do enough thinking that first year, as he may very well have been busy doing other college-type activities. That summer, he returned to Spokane and worked for a landscape company and soon realized how much he enjoyed working outdoors. So he returned that fall, heard about this major called Landscape Architecture, checked it out and jumped right into his DREAM career…

Scott Bucher

Operations Manager

Scott Bucher
Scott graduated from the U of W with an Economics degree in 1994. After graduating, he spent 10 years working primarily on segmental retaining wall and concrete paver projects. For seven of those 10 years Scott owned and operated his own business and in 2005 joined the Clearwater Summit Group team. Scott is currently the operations manager for the company and enjoys working hard every day with some of the best landscapers in the industry.

Brent Schreiber

Senior Project Manager

Brent Schreiber
Brent went to high school in Sammamish, WA and went on to graduate from the University of Washington in 2000 with a degree in Geography and GIS. Upon graduating, Brent worked in the Seattle area for the next eight years doing landscape sales, design and project management. After a half day visit to North Idaho when visiting family for Christmas in Spokane, he and his wife decided to leave the west-side traffic behind and relocate to scenic North Idaho. Brent quickly found a spot at Clearwater Summit Group in 2007, where he has been estimating and managing a multitude of projects ever since. He has a great passion for seeing new outdoor environments come to life and greatly enjoys working with the team at Clearwater Summit. Outside of work, Brent has his hands full with two young boys, Cody and Colin, and a wild hound dog named Sadie…and he loves every minute of it. When he can find the time, you’ll find him fishing, mountain biking, kayaking, snowboarding and watching sports, but mostly just enjoying any kind of time with his family in this beautiful place they now call home.

Kim Hickman

Commercial Project Manager/Estimator/Plant Procurement

Kim Hickman
Kim grew up mainly in Seattle and S.W. Washington, with stints in Ohio and Los Angeles along the way. She attended Washington State University in the early 90’s, majoring in Environmental Science. She joined Clearwater Summit Group in 2000, working in the field as the service technician until the end of the 2012 season. She was then promoted to commercial project manager and estimator in December 2012. She shares her house with three extremely lazy rescue cats, Noodle, Bert and Ernie. Kim is an avid Mariners, Cougar football/basketball and Gonzaga fan, hoping every spring that this is the year the Mariners finally make it back to the playoffs. Kim loves any activity in the outdoors. Kim spends the bulk of her free time volunteering at CDA Ironman, camping, hiking, snowshoeing, attending an eclectic variety of music events and going on spontaneous road trips.

Aaron Rietze

Landscape Architect/Project Manager/Sales

Aaron Rietze
Aaron grew up on the ski slopes, mountain trails and soccer fields of Boise, ID. Attended the University of Idaho where he spent some time studying landscape design in Italy and went on to earn a degree in Landscape Architecture in 1998 (and fall in love with a cute college girl). Kristi and Aaron lived and worked in Boise & Portland, OR where Aaron learned the business of landscaping working for big firms in both cities. This experience led him to his landscape niche & passion working on “Custom Residential Design/Build” projects. Married in 2002, they made the big, permanent move back to Kristi’s hometown, Coeur d’Alene where a large village of family could help them raise a family. Aaron joined Clearwater Summit Group in 2004 and thoroughly enjoyed the diverse experience and team atmosphere for six years. In 2011 Aaron fulfilled a dream of starting his own small company which taught him more about the business of landscaping than any higher education ever could have! Most importantly he learned the value of working with a team of professionals and being a part of a bigger company to best serve client’s needs. CSGI gives Aaron the opportunity to walk more closely alongside the client through the process and focus on attention to detail rather than wearing the many varied hats he wore as a small business owner. He will also have more time to focus on the brood of (4!) kids he and Kristi joyously raise – 3 girls and a boy who love the ski slopes, mountain trails and soccer fields as much as he does. As of 2016 Aaron is very happy to be back with the CSGI team!

Curtis Morin

Landscape Architect & Design Manager

Curtis Morin
Curt joined the Clearwater team in early 2013 as a Landscape Architect. Originally from Spokane, his career began at Washington State University, where he received his degree in Landscape Architecture in 2003. In addition to Savannah, he spent parts of the next eight years working as a Landscape Designer/Architect in the beautiful cities of Hilton Head, SC (where he met his wife Jessica) and Charlotte, NC. He became a registered Landscape Architect in the fall of 2007. He had his first child, Vaughn, in September of 2008, and soon after that, he headed back home to Spokane to raise and expand his family. Another boy, Reece, joined the party in August of 2013. In his off-time, Curt enjoys doing projects around the house (of his own mind, not his wife’s), growing massive amounts of tomatoes that nobody in his family (including himself) even likes, hosting cornhole tournaments/bbq’s at his home with his friends, and hanging with his two dogs, Frank and Beans.

While in Spokane, Chuck and Darcie gave birth to their only child, Danae, a recent graduate of Central Valley High School.
